If you’re looking to add more plant-based options to your plate, this tofu “ground beef” is an easy, versatile recipe packed with protein and flavor! Perfect as a filling for tacos, pasta, wraps, or even mixed into a veggie stir-fry.

Serving Ideas:

  • Tacos: Pile it into soft tacos with fresh salsa and avocado.
  • Chilli “con Carne”: My personal favorite for colder months.
  • Bolognese: Mix it with marinara sauce for a veggie Bolognese, as seen on my TikTok
  • Salads: Add it to leafy salads for extra protein and texture.
  • Stir-Fry: Toss it into a veggie stir-fry for an Asian-inspired twist.

Gentle Nutrition:

Tofu: A great source of complete protein, plus it’s rich in calcium and iron.
Antioxidant-rich spices such as turmeric.
Olive oil: Vitamin E, monounsaturated fats, antioxidants.

Equipment For This Recipe:

Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Turmeric, Oregano, Caraway Non-Stick Ceramic Baking Sheet, Parchment Paper

Ingredients:

  • 1 block firm tofu, crumbled
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp turmeric
  • 2 tsp garlic powder
  • 3 tsp smoked paprika
  • 3 tsp oregano
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Note: You can adjust the entire recipe to your taste, I usually eyeball the ingredients, adding spices until the tofu is evenly covered.

  1. Preheat your oven to 180°C (356°F).
  2. Crumble the tofu into a large mixing bowl, breaking it into small, minced-sized pieces.
  3. Add the olive oil, soy sauce, turmeric, garlic powder, paprika, oregano, salt, and pepper. Mix well until the tofu is evenly coated with spices.
  4. Spread the tofu mixture in an even layer on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  5. Bake for 15 minutes, stirring halfway through, until golden and crispy.
  6. Let it cool slightly before serving, and enjoy it in your favorite dishes!
